Pet passports, for travel in the EU, are easily obtained. All your pet needs is an identity chip, a rabies vaccination and a rabies serology blood test, all of which we can happily do for you. Once your pet has these, they are ready to go.
Before returning to the UK, your pet must be given a worming tablet by a veterinary surgeon, who will endorse your passport accordingly. Continental vets are all familiar with this process and offer this service. The tablet must be given no less than 24 hours and no more than 120 hours (five days)
We will issue your passport, which is valid for return to the UK three weeks after it is issued. However, on every return trip to the UK your pet must be given a worming tablet by a veterinary surgeon. This should be no less than 24 hours and no more than five days before you return through customs. The three-week delay period only applies to the period following initial issue of your pet passport. The passport is valid for three years (minus one day) within which time they must have their Rabies vaccination boosted.
